The combination of traditional varieties Grenache, fruit foward and unctuous because of its alcohol, and Carignan, with intense colour and balanced acidity, are the varietal factors that define the character of Montsant wines. Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are used as blending wines to improve tannic content and structure.
With Moreres, I am interested in a wine with stronger notes of oak, a wine that ages longer in the barrel but doesn’t loose its characteristic fruit. A friendly wine with a slightly “Riojan” accent, with the style and personality of Montsant.
In short, I am looking for a typical aged wine adapted to modern taste, light on the wood and easy to drink.
